Robertson RFB is classed as a ‘Village 2’ brigade which reflects the area that we are responsible for and the types of incidents that we are regularly asked to respond to.
The town of Robertson is home to almost 2000 people. Whilst the town itself is very much an urban environment, we are surrounded by large areas of bushland, including Morton National Park which stretches from Robertson to Batemans Bay on the far south coast. This means that we receive a wide variety of calls to house and other structural fires, as well as fires in grass paddocks and dense bushland.
In addition to this, Robertson is situated on main arteries for both road and rail, with Macquarie Pass, the Illawarra Hwy and a significant east-west rail freight line providing an ever-increasing number of motor vehicle accidents and the occasional train derailment.
